10 Things That Makes Me Happy

My Sweet Hubby- so patient and willing to let me bake and let my creative juices flow.
My Mama - Always willing to listen and help brighten any situation
Church- I love going to church, I love being inspired every Sunday it really lifts me each week. (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for anyone that wants to attend www.lds.org)
Warm Feet- This is rare because my feet are ALWAYS cold so when they are warm it makes me happy :)
Shopping- Even if I don't have money it's still fun to look around
Traveling- I LOVE to travel!! Anywhere and everywhere I hope to travel my whole life
Blogging- I used to be even more obsessed but I still love reading other blogs and getting creative cake ideas from other inspired bakers :)
Etsy- I love this website and seeing all the fun home-made things people can make. It's astonishing how creative minds are.
Flowers- I love flowers... they make everything bright and cheerful!
and last but not least... Family & Friends- They make all the difference in my world :)

BBQ & Cupcakes!

So we have been invited to a BBQ and I was asked to bring a dessert.. So of course I had to bring Cupcakes! I don't know why but I am in LOVE with these tiny adorable yummy treats. I decided to make a carrot cupcake with carrot slices, raisins, and crushed pineapple. I also forgot to put the nuts in the mix so I just added them to the frosting on top. Then I also made a dark chocolate cupcake with chocolate chips. I topped it off with coco dust and one heart sprinkle :) Enjoy!

Re-Location to DC

So we've relocated to the DC are for my hubby's medical school... I guess all my cake business may have to go on hold since I haven't quite figured out how to spread the word that I would LOVE to make cakes.. Even for a discount! Well we will see what the future brings.. Maybe I'll have to go back to my big kid job in healthcare administration :)

Raspberry Lemmon Wedding Cake

 Joe + Emily

Inspired by another fresh fruit themed cake Joe & Emily requested raspberries, lemmons and oranges on a three layer cake. Inside was Lemmon cake with raspberry filling YUMMY! I think it turned out very fun and fresh looking. This was the largest cake I have done yet and I was very pleased with the turn out. I hope you had a WONDERFUL wedding day Joe & Emily. Congratulations!! It was an honor to make your wedding cake.

Mini Bride Cake

It was Holly's Bridal Shower at work so of course they requested that I make a cake!! So inspired by her actual dress and red + white wedding colors I came up with the fun cake you see here. The inside cake was a red velvet. So cute!! It makes me want to get married all over again :)

Utah Jazz Cake

 Taryn & Blake are some of our best friends and a fun couple to hang out with. Blake and my husband have grown up together and for his wedding his bride to be wanted a fun bachelor cake of the Utah Jazz. We put our heads together and came up with this fun little guy!

Giant Tooth Dentist Cake

My brother in law just graduated from Dental school. So per request of his lovely wife i made him a happy tooth cake. I think it turned out great! My nephew even had fun brushing his teeth with frosting.. gross! haha Congrats Thomas!

Fun Cupcake Pull Apart

My co-worker's son is in T-ball and for their final game wanted a fun cardinal cake. I couldn't get the frosting to go a true red so it was a slight pink so i made him extra mean looking to compensate :) It was a fun new experience for me.

Giant Cupcake Birthday Cake

 Happy Birthday Lucky!

I had the best time making this fun cupcake party for Lucky's Birthday! This was my first try at a large cupcake cake and I have fallen in love with how it all turned out. The inside of the cake was a strawberry cream cheese filling that I made using pure strawberry jam with no added sugars. I'm kinda weird about feeding kids sugar at such a young age so I really tried to make her cake "kid friendly" by using minimal oil and hardly any sugar. Overall it really kept its flavor and was Lucky's favorite.. and that's what counts! As long as the birthday girl is happy then we are all happy.

French Vanilla Cake with honey cream cheese filling
Fudgy Chocolate Cake with strawberry cream cheese filling
Strawberry Cake with chocolate moose filling

School Bus Cake + Whimsical Cake

My friend Kim came over and helped me decorate cakes for her twins. I worked on the bus while she perfected the Whimsical Cake.  We let the twins choose what they wanted and this is what they came up with :) I can't believe they are getting so old! I miss the chubby little baby twins.. but they are just as cute 7 years old too!

Giant Birthday Cake

So this picture doesn't do the size of this cake justice! This was by far the biggest cake that I have ever made. It was made from a 14' pan and was double layered. White cake with Cherry Filling and a YUMMY frosting on the bottom. It fed the whole department of about 50 people with cake to spare! I think it turned out just right. I made this a few months ago and thought I would post it for fun.. Enjoy!

Pregnant Belly Cake

It's a BOY!

So my friend at work is having a baby show and of course I was asked to make a cake.. I willingly accepted the challenge. I've wanted an excuse to have a go at this type of cake. The inside is a chocolate with raspberry filling YUM!! The fondant was a little dry because of the coloring? Not sure... however it worked out well :) I'm starting to really love fondant!

The Pearl Cake

I made this cake using a yummy fondant I learned how to make. It was my first go at fondant and I think it turned out reasonably well. The inside I used white cake and lemon (per request of the buyer). I also used an edible pearl shimmer to finish off the whole "pearl cake" look. What do you think!?
